Brendale
Brendale, Queensland is a suburb of Brisbane, on the shores of the South Pine River; Strathpine Railway Station is to its immediate east. Brendale is in the LGA of Moreton Bay Region. At the 2006, it had a population of about 1800 residents. The suburb is largely industrial. In 1980, a well-known horse stud, belong to a land developer, was named Brendale. The suburb took its name from the horse. The area was settled in 1870 by Thomas and Samuel Coe. They were drawn to the area because of its water sources and flat country for grazing dairy cows. South Pine provisional school was founded in 1873. The town was named South Pine until the 1980s. This was the second school in the Pine Rivers LGA, which later became the Shire. During World War II, the flat farm country was put into use as an airstrip. Clay deposits throughout the area led to the establishment of PGH Brickworks in 1961. The manufacturing plant is in Kremzow Road. A cablemaker factory was built the year prior to the brickworks. In 2005, there were more than 900 businesses contributing the employment and economy of the Pine River Shire. Today, there are sports facilities throughout Brendale.

Brendale has seen to the entertainment and recreation of its residents with the building of the South Pine Sporting Complex and Brendale Park.
